Quotes & Pricing
Building a quote
Section titled “Building a quote”Navigate to the Quotes tab within any engagement to start pricing.
Adding groups
Section titled “Adding groups”Groups organize your quote into logical sections. Common patterns:
- By phase: Discovery, Implementation, Training & Rollout
- By workstream: Technical, Change Management, Project Management
- By deliverable: Platform Setup, Data Migration, Custom Development
- Click Add Group in the quote toolbar.
- Name the group (e.g., “Discovery & Requirements”).
- Add line items within the group.
Line item types
Section titled “Line item types”| Type | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Resource | A person/role with hours, rate, and markup | ”Lead Consultant — 40 hours @ $250” |
| Material | A tangible cost (licenses, hardware, etc.) | ”Training Materials — $3,500” |
| Fixed Fee | A flat amount not tied to hours | ”Project Management Fee — $10,000” |
Markup and margin
Section titled “Markup and margin”Each line item and group can have its own markup percentage. Servantium calculates:
- Cost — Your actual cost (hours × rate, or material cost)
- Markup — Applied percentage on top of cost
- Total — What the client pays
The estimate total bar at the bottom shows aggregate cost, average markup, and total estimate across all groups.
Quote templates
Section titled “Quote templates”For recurring engagement types, save a quote as a template. Templates encode:
- Standard group structure
- Default line items and roles
- Typical quantities and rates
- Target markup percentages
When you create a new engagement from a template, the quote pre-populates — you adjust rather than build from scratch.
