Resource Planning
Overview
Section titled “Overview”Resource Planning gives you visibility into who is working where, when, and for how long. It surfaces overallocation before it becomes a problem and helps you staff new engagements based on actual availability.
Month View
Section titled “Month View”The default view shows resource allocation by month across all active engagements. Each cell shows planned hours with color coding:

|---|---|
| Green | Normal utilization (within capacity) |
| Amber | Approaching capacity (80%+) |
| Red | Overallocated (exceeds available hours) |
Week View
Section titled “Week View”Drill into a specific week to see day-by-day allocation. Useful for sprint planning and short-term staffing decisions.
Day View
Section titled “Day View”Granular daily view for managing immediate workload.
Assigning resources
Section titled “Assigning resources”Resources are assigned from the Resource Plans tab within an engagement. Assignments link directly to the roles and hours in your quote:
- The Lead Consultant from your quote’s Discovery group becomes a resource assignment
- Hours planned in the quote flow into the resource plan
- Changes to the quote automatically update resource needs
Capacity management
Section titled “Capacity management”Servantium tracks each resource’s total available hours per period and compares against their planned assignments across all engagements. This gives you:
- Utilization rate — Hours assigned vs. hours available
- Overallocation alerts — When someone is booked beyond capacity
- Bench visibility — Who has unallocated time for new work
